Roles and Responsibilities
The Lord Lieutenant is HM The King's personal representative in the city of Derry/Londonderry. Responsibilities include, advising and attending, on Royal Visits, to organisations and groups, in the County Borough of Londonderry.
The Lieutenancy also carry out duties which includes, publicising and advising on, and presenting, National Honours, King's Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS), King's Award for Enterprise (KAE), and the King's Medal for Fire Service personnel.
Lord Lieutenant Certificates are also presented, to those, who have made an outstanding contribution, to the Reserve Forces and Cadet Association.
The Lord Lieutenant conducts Citizenship Ceremonies on a regular basis, where new Citizens complete the final part of their Citizenship journey.
The Lord Lieutenant also makes visits to groups and organisations to celebrate their contribution to the community.
